Kristen P. Walp is a Senior Associate with the law firm of Leftwich LLC, and a member of the firm’s Construction and Development Advisory Services, and Small Business Advisory Services practice groups.
As part of the firm’s construction and development advisory services, Ms. Walp has assisted various local government entities develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies for school, recreation, library, and other municipal projects since 2007. Ms. Walp has assisted and advised various District of Columbia agencies in the preparation of procurement documents and other procurement issues. Her construction law experience includes negotiating and drafting contracts and change orders, as well as general contract administration matters, for both small and complex projects.
Ms. Walp has general business transactional work and regulatory experience, including the development of various legislative initiatives for a major telecommunications company. She has performed extensive legislative review, drafted various proposed statutes, regulations, and supporting testimony, as well as personnel and procurement regulations for a District of Columbia agency. She has advised clients on various general business matters, and has also assisted a client with a successful commercial arbitration contract dispute.
